Labcraft have launched an additional switching unit to work alongside their existing product range. The Slimline PIR unit, when fitted in conjunction with Labcraft LED lighting, will control the on/off switching of the interior vehicle lighting helping to increase battery life and offer substantial savings on maintenance costs and vehicle downtime.
The Slimline PIR unit has been designed to detect the movement of body heat to activate the sensor, eliminating the requirement for manual switching. Once the sensor has been triggered, the timer unit will switch the connected lights on for 30 seconds before automatically switching off. If continuous movement is detected then the lights will remain on until no further motion is detected. By fitting the Slimline PIR unit, this will increase the life of the battery and allow the lights in the vehicle to remain working for longer, which is particularly important during the dark winter months.
With battery life being at the forefront of importance in vehicles, especially where lighting is concerned, the Slimline PIR has been designed to use a minimal amount of power to prevent any unnecessary load, and will operate a series of Labcraft lights up to 4.5A. Weighting only 90g, this slimline unit is only 19mm deep, therefore keeping obstruction and risk of damage to a minimum.
The TSTI Slimline PIT, alongside the majority of Labcraft’s LED lighting, has been tested to the new vehicle regulations and has been certified with the e-type approval.
